They are the ones who press NIKA olive oil

Get to know the people who know every tree in our grove

On the Greek island of Lesvos, thousands of refugees live today—people who were forced to flee war, persecution, and violence. They left behind their homes, jobs, friends—often their entire lives—in exchange for the hope of safety.
Lesvos, one of the main gateways on the refugee route to Europe, has become their temporary home. And while conditions have been (and still are) harsh, many of them don’t want to simply wait—they want to act, to work, to build a new life with dignity.
They take part in local initiatives, learn the language, help others. These are the people behind NIKA olive oil—crafted with pride and artisanal precision, bringing not only flavor, but also jobs, purpose, and hope.
They are not just “refugees.”
They are people. Onur, James, Mustafa, Sohil.
Each of them has their own story and dreams.

Onur

He is a Kurd from Turkey. For more than ten years, he has not been able to see his family. In the Home for All project, he found a sense of closeness and a new community, and in the camp fate brought him together with his future wife—a Syrian. In Home Village, his greatest satisfaction comes from working in the garden, where he finds peace and meaning in everyday life.

James Kingsley Tullah

He comes from Sierra Leone. He has an exceptional running talent—on Lesvos, he never leaves the podium in local competitions. His passion for running has become not only a form of self-expression, but also a source of strength and motivation in his new reality.

Mustafa

He arrived on the island from Sudan. When he asked to be taken to a local football training session, many thought it was just a casual hobby. It quickly turned out, however, that he had an extraordinary talent—today he is one of the best players on the team and a true source of pride for his teammates.

Sohail

He came to Greece alone to provide support for his family—his wife and three children—for whom daily life would otherwise be a struggle for survival. His decision was an act of courage, sacrifice, and deep responsibility for his loved ones.
